Travel Guide: Our Favorite Things To Do In Denver
We don’t make our way into Denver together too often, but when we do—it’s always amazing. If you’re ever in the Denver area, we definitely recommend planning one day to do exactly these things because you’re in for a day full of fun when you do!
In honor of Darby’s birthday as well as mine (they’re only a month apart from each other!) and just in honor of being together (finally!), we spend the day in the LoHi area of Denver.
Here’s what we did, and we’d highly recommend you do the same!
Head To The Black Eye LoHi Location For Brunch
Black Eye is a great coffee shop, with two very different locations, at least in terms of interior design. Stop by both if you have time! If not—swing by the shabby chic LoHi location for a coffee and a bite to eat.
The menu offers everything from avocado toast to the Meat Breakfast Sandwich, which comes with bacon or pulled pork, an egg and greens. We ordered the sandwich, and it was delicious!
After a lovely brunch, next up on the agenda…manicures!
Hop Over To Base Coat
Base Coat Nail Salon is literally .1 miles apart from each other on the same street. What’s great about this salon is that it’s completely non-toxic, which is pretty rare.
You may want to schedule an appointment, although they do accept walk-ins.
When you walk in, you’ll be greeted with a complimentary hot tea, water or glass of wine.
From there, choose your nail color (this will be tricky because they have a lot of amazing ones to choose from), and then let the relaxation begin!
They offer manicures and pedicures, so you can get a full pampering session or just go for the manicures like we did!
Stroll Down To Bar Dough
Now that you’ve had your caffeine and your pampering session—what else could you need? Umm, pizza, duh!
Depending on your time frame, you can walk around the LoHi area before going to get a bite to eat. It’s a really cool area, so you’re sure to love it.
But, once you’re ready for a bite to eat, Bar Dough is the place to go. They offer authentic Italian fare including pastas, bruschetta, pizzas and perhaps best of all—homemade limoncello spritzes! Can you say, “yum?!”
Oh, and after apps, drinks and pizza—don’t leave without trying their ricotta doughnut holes for dessert.
Once you’ve done these three tasks, you will have completed what is sure to be one of the best days ever. It certainly was a treat for us to do this together, and honestly, we can’t wait to do it again.
If you go on these outings, we hope you enjoy as much as we did! If it’s anything like our Denver day, it’ll be one to remember, for sure!
Love to travel? Us too! Check out our guide for visiting Savannah during the holidays next!
