Best Things To Do In Savannah, GA For The Holidays

The holidays brought my family together once again in the great city of Savannah, GA. And let me tell y’all — we never get tired of this city.

The fall and winter months in the south are a nice change of pace. It’s chilly but not a drop of snow in sight, so if you’re looking for warmth this winter, you need to head to Savannah.

Check out a list of places that we couldn’t avoid going to while we were all in town together, and get ready to plan a trip down to Georgia. Because we promise you, you’ll fall in love with this place, just as we did.

1. Gallery Espresso

Address: 234 Bull Street Savannah, GA 31401

If you like sinking into a couch while sipping a cup of quality coffee, then this is the place for you. This location sets up a Christmas tree, has a fireplace and gives off a very homey vibe. Stop in here to sit back, relax and enjoy a break from walking downtown. Pro tip: Order a frozen latte. It’s delish, and always appropriate (no matter the weather — not that it ever gets too cold).

P.S. This café has been a long time favorite of ours. It really reminds us of Central Perk in Friends.

2. Foxy Loxy

Address: 1919 Bull Street Savannah, GA 31401

There are a lot of great cafes in Savannah, and Foxy Loxy is one of our top favorites. We love their drinks, but especially their desserts. I mean, they’ve got a vegan brownie that tastes heavenly and the best tres leches cake you’ve ever had. So, seriously, make this place your very first stop.

3. Green Truck

Address: 2430 Habersham St. Savannah, GA 31401

You’ve got to swing by Green Truck for a big, juicy burger while you’re here. They also have a homemade ketchup, and overall, this is a very unique dining experience. Their food is worth what it costs to fly to Savannah. Trust us.

4. Butterhead Greens

Address: 1813 Bull St. Savannah, GA 31401

Butterhead Greens is a great place to grab lunch. It’s located right across from a Savannah College of Art and Design building, so if you’re into great food and people watching, take a pit stop here. We recommend the tomato bisque soup. Seriously, we’ve tried to recreate this, and there’s just no doing it. How do they make tomato soup (of all things!) taste this good?!

5. Zunzi’s

Address: 108 E York St. Savannah, GA 31401

This is also a unique dining experience. The restaurant combines South African Swiss, Italian, and Dutch food. At the express location you just walk right up and order. There is an eating space in the back. We always always order Oliver's Lunch. We highly recommend it. Oliver's Lunch has chicken or South African sausage over rice, it comes with salad and bread. Simple and delicious.
