5 Blow Dry Bars To Try in NYC

Lately I’ve been into trying a dry bar. In New York I’ve been seeing them everywhere. I’ve already been doing research so I thought I’d share my findings on here.

The only time I blow dry my own hair is before I straighten it. I could never just blow dry my hair myself and wear it out. I have such thick hair that is just grows outwards by about … oh … 15 inches. Not even an exaggeration. So if someone could do it for me and it look presentable, I thought why not?

I’m not sure when or if I’ll go to a dry bar in NYC. But if I do it will be at one of these.

Their tagline is, “No Cuts, No Color, Just Blowouts.” This sounds like a pretty solid business plan to me. It’s all about styling your hair, how cool. The different styles on the dry bar menu are, “The Straight Up, The Manhanttan, “The Cosmo,” “The Mai Tai,” “The Cosmo Tai,” “Southern Comfort,” “Dirty Martini,” “The Uptini,” and “Shirley Temple.”

There are so many different styles to choose from. You can also add a scalp massage, a hair mask, and even a braid. Sounds like perfection to me. If you’re in NYC you’ll see Dry Bar locations everywhere. Go in next time you see one and pick whatever stylish hairstyle your desires.

Not only do they do hair blow outs, they also offer beauty services. Nails, makeup, waxing options Blo Chelsea has it all. One of the co-founders is from the South so y'all we'd have something in common.

The beautiful interior of this place alone makes it worth going to. They even have a location in Georgia, for when I leave NYC.

One of my favorite parts about Dream Dry is the "The Little Black Box" that is available for purchase. The box sells all the professional tools the staff uses, so you can have Dream Dry level hair at home.

DreamDry – NYC/Columbus Circle

I like the cleverness of the name. They offer blowouts, dry styling , braids, and undo styles- you can't beat that. It's a one stop shop for your haircare.

Haute Air is located in SoHo which is really close to where I intern. I defintely need to pop into her after a hard day at work.

At Haute Air they do a little bit of everything. You can even have a birthday or bachelorette event here, how perfect?!
