Beauty Products To Store In The Fridge When It's Hot AF Out

Now that the hottest days of summer are upon us, we're looking for ALL of the ways we can stay as cool as possible. And because we'll take any excuse to rub something cool all over our bodies, we've started storing more and more of the products we use everyday in the fridge. Because seriously — this window unit just ain't cuttin' it.

From mists to thick butters, some of your go-to beauty items can be exactly what you need to give yourself a refresher. Whether you apply these at night or right before heading out into the heat — chilling these items will give you just the extra cool factor (literally) you need.

1. Mist Me, Baby

Soothing Face Mist, $18, Glossier

Think of this as the ultimate pick-me-up. Storing this in the refrigerator isn't quite the same thing as treating yourself to an ice cream cone, but it is just what you need when you're on the verge of breaking a sweat (again). This mist can be applied any and everywhere any time of the day. Use it first in the morning or during your lunch break. It's as simple as: reach into the fridge and spritz. And voila. Instant refresher. The rose in this product will also eliminate any redness (which can be a major issue for hot, irritated skin), so bonus points for this spritz! While we love this specific product, you can store any spritz or mist in the fridge!

2. Lay It On Thick

Cosmic Night Cream, $59, Sephora

We often save some of our thickest lotions to be applied right before bed at night, and those are precisely the types of products that will prepare you for a sweat-free slumber. Any of your thick facial creams, such as the one above, cold cream or even all-over body butter can be chilled until you're ready to lather up.

3. Chill Out

Cactus Mask Sheet, $3.75, Ulta Beauty

When you just need to chill out (literally and figuratively), you'll want to reach for a face mask — especially one that's been in the fridge for a few hours. There's no better way to get a cooling sensation and relaxation, all wrapped up in one. You can put any sheet masks, thick mask creams or eye/lip masks on the top shelf of your fridge for the next time you need to cool down and take a load off. Think of it as me time, made better.

4. Primed And Ready To Go

Priming Moisturizer, $22, Glossier

You won't need a thick primer during the summertime to keep your skin hydrated, but you will need something to help that makeup stay in place. Start your makeup routine off just right with something lightweight and cool by storing something like Glossier's Priming Moisturizer in the fridge.

5. Simmer Down With Sunscreen

Just as the brand name suggests — storing this in the refrigerator will keep you a whole lot coola. Besides, it gives you a great excuse to lather up in sunscreen, which you need to be doing all summer long (and every single day) anyways!

6. Get Your Cool On

While it's always a good idea to lather up in SPF, there may be times when you have a little too much fun in the sun and wind up with a sun burn. On those (hopefully rare) occasions, be sure you chill any after sun products before application to make the inflamed skin area feel even better.

Self-care and a cool-down all wrapped into one? Don't mind if we do! Who else is going to be storing products in the fridge from now on?

And if you need even more ways to escape the heat, give these cocktail floats a try next — perhaps even while you sit with that chilled face mask on your face? It doesn't get better than that!
