L & L Takes New York: The Break NYFW
Thanks to the vintage-loving and thrifty Darby, we recently learned of a super cool vintage brand called The Break. It's located in Brooklyn, and considering Darby also just moved to New York — well, a trip to the shop was a no-brainer.
The L & L girls reunited in New York for a some weekend fun, and of course — we stopped by The Break's NYFW party. It's as FROW as we've gotten thus far in our careers, and we enjoyed every second of it.
The selection of vintage clothing they had available to shop and the models and still lives set up in a museum-type setting couldn't have been cooler. OH and did we mention there was free rosé flowing?!
You could shop or jump across the street to see the live exhibition. Models were posing, donning their best vintage. When had to go across the street to take a peek, Darby even got to be in a video they were taking at the event. She was wearing a vintage 90s Corvette leather jacket. Keep scrolling to see our outfits from the night and that leather baby.
After making a point to look at all of the clothing racks we managed to leave with a pretty incredible purchase — a vintage leather jacket. It's kind of an adirondack style which is different than any other leather piece we've ever really seen.
And we'll always have the story of how we acquired the unique vintage piece — at NYFW. Pretty cool second life for this piece of clothing, if we do say so ourselves!
Also, something we were pretty excited about — our outfits and these retro car murals we got to pose in front of!
I wore a vintage sweater that used to belong to my mom. It went straight from her closet to mine because I love the quirky diamond pattern, chunky knit and boxy silhouette.
I paired this with trendy checkered pants that fit like a glove (preach!) and a pair of sparkly socks and mules.
Here is the 1990s Corvette leather jacket. I love all the colorblocking and giant logo. She scored this find on Ebay!!
She paired it with black skinny pants and black Chelsea boots to really let the jacket shine.
Were we NYFW-ready or what?
Anyways, as NYFW comes to a close, we realize you won't be able to take part in this event, but this store is a place you can visit any time you're in Brooklyn. Oh, and the retro car garage doors are just around the corner! We highly recommend stopping by this place whenever you can!
