7 Ways To Love Yourself Better This Valentine’s Day (And Every Single Day)

For us, 2018 has been all about bettering ourselves. But, in many ways, that’s simply meant learning to give ourselves a break. Life has been stressful for us so far this year, but we’ve been striving to cut ourselves some slack. If we didn’t check off our ridiculously long to-do list for the day — it's OK. The path to betterment comes down to loving yourself — even on your worst days. So, that’s definitely a theme we’re keeping in mind as Valentine’s Day arrives.

Learning to be kind to yourself is certainly easier said than done. It’s a process, for sure, but what’s been helping us is making time for exercise (specifically, yoga) and also just making time to relax a little. It’s hugely important for us to stay motivated so we can meet all of the goals we set for ourselves, but balance is key.

If you’re like us and the struggle to be truly kind to yourself is real, then these are just a few ways you can love yourself a little better this Valentine’s Day, but also each and every single day.

1. Have Some "You Time"

Creating some time for ourselves to do something that makes us truly happy is surprisingly not something that everyone tends to do. In our busy schedules, the "me time" scheduled can often be the first things to go in order to make time for something "more important." But, we're here to argue that the manicure you promised yourself, the relaxing bath or whatever you were going to do — just for you — is more important than anything else. So, make some time for you this Feb. 14th, would you?

2. Treat Yo' Self

Making some time to relax is something that should be done frequently, but when we talk about treating yourself — we're talking about really going all out, whatever that means for you. Maybe it means indulging in dessert or buying yourself something you've been eyeing for a while. Whatever you do — treat yo' self! You deserve it.

3. Give Yourself A Foot Massage

One thing we've learned from our Yoga practice is that a little deep breathing and foot massaging can go a long way. So, put some comfy socks on — we recommend these that are infused with soothing aloe from Pointe Studio — and sit with your legs crossed and rub your feet as you breathe in and out. It'll make you feel way more relaxed and prepared to take on whatever comes your way. Namaste!

4. Love Your Body

This Valentine's Day, we're hoping that every woman treats herself to some lingerie. Buying and wearing lingerie will go a long way to helping you love, appreciate and admire your body — and that's something every woman deserves. Brands such as ThirdLove and Parfait have some great styles you're sure to love. So, slip into something sexy and impress yourself this Feb. 14, babe!

5. Buy Yourself Flowers

Be your own secret admirer! Buying yourself flowers will boost your spirits and be such a nice addition to your day.

6. Self-Care With Skincare

A healthy complexion is something that will give you a glowing appearance and so much confidence. Be sure to incorporate a nice face mask into your routine this Valentine's Day. Doing something good for your body will go a long way to helping you love yourself more than ever before in 2018. We highly recommend Glossier skincare items, which you can shop (and save!) via this link!!

6. Invest In Yourself

Whether you sign up for classes on Skillshare, download a language app, vow to journal everyday or shop items that will make your life better (THINX underwear, for example) make Feb. 14 (and everyday thereafter) a day to do something that will make your future even brighter.

Here's to hoping your Valentine's Day is full of love for yourself! We're firm believers that if you love yourself first, and everything else will fall into place, and we're on the path to loving ourselves and treating ourselves with kindness right there with you! So, here's to us!
