My weekends in New York are winding down. After Augusta left, we really hit the New York ground hard, so I needed a relaxing weekend in the city. On Saturday no alarms were set. I slept in as late as I possibly could.
I woke up and decided to head to a coffee shop. I ordered an iced mocha and a nutella cronut. Yes I couldn’t leave New York without trying that. Then I just came back to my apartment and netflixed the day away.
On Sunday I was ready to head back into Manhattan. I went to a restaurant mainly devoted to chocolate. They do have food too, but they are known for their chocolate treats. It is called Max Breener. There I ordered a pizza and a peanut butter chocolate milkshake. The milkshakes were worth all the hype I had seen on Pinterest.
After Max Brenner, I headed to Battery Park to get a closer view of the Statue of Liberty. It was a gorgeous day out. I was able to get a great view of the statue on the Hudson River. I loved see the water and all the buildings. It was beautiful!
On Saturday I wanted to go to anther museum. I have to take advantage of all the amazing art while I’m here. So I set out to go to the Guggenheim.
Before the museum I went to Gina La Fornarina, which the cutest little Italian eating spot. It has outdoor seating that’s pink. I kept it simple and just ordered a chicken salad.
After lunch it was time to head to the Guggenheim (which is right around the corner). The building is the most exciting part. It is a huge spiral, with all kinds of little hidden coves that hold artwork from the greats like Pablo Picasso, Malevich, and Mondrian. I like taking my time to climb this huge spiral. It was very cool and a fun afternoon.
I could bounce from museum to museum everyday and never get tired of it!
On Sunday, I decided to have a lazy Sunday. Where my day consisted on finding a bakery near by and getting cannolis. I had too! I found a place near by and ordered an iced coffee and two pastries: a cannoli and a mini fruit tart. It was magnificent!
