5 Activities To Keep You Sane While Staying In

If you've watched all of the shows you can handle on your various streaming platforms or reread your favorite book for the third time by now, it may be time to mix up your evening activities. There are plenty of things you can do while staying in that will not only help keep you sane while you're stuck inside, but might also help you prep for the day you finally get to reunite with people again.

Whether you're looking for a fun, unique way to pass the time, ready to reminisce on old memories or preparing for your future — these activities will meet all of your needs this quarantine.

We've either given these activities a try or have them on our to-do list, and we highly recommend you add them to your queue of stuff to do, too!

1. Take A Walk Down Memory Lane

Printworks Photo Album, $42.50, Anthropologie

Remember what it's like to be outside? Be with friends and family? It's these memories that are keeping us company and helping us through this time. Use your downtime to go through old photographs and even create a way to display them. These chic scrapbooks could be a fun project and look great on your coffee table when you're done!

2. Make Your Own Recipes

Recipe Journal, $36, Rag & Bone Bindery

With all of this time to cook, might as well start documenting all of the amazing concoctions you create with whatever you've got on hand. Have fun mixing ingredients and coming up with your own recipes. You can save the best ones in a recipe journal like the one featured above.

3. Put Together A Puzzle

Forbidden Fruit Puzzle, $36, Piecework

These puzzles from Piecework will keep you busy (ask Darby!), and they'll be a piece of art you can hang on your wall when you're done, since the designs are so cool. So, definitely worth filling your indoor-spent days putting together one of these!

4. Plan Activities For Future You

While things feel pretty stagnant right now — they won't stay that way forever. This is only temporary, so you might as well take this time to start planning what you'll do next. Even if that's only what you'll do in the next few hours. You can write everything from "focus on your breath" to planning all of the things you'll do when you get out of your house again. Even if that's just go to drinks with your girlfriends. Now's the time to take stock and save your battery for all of the amazing things you have coming!

5. Play A Game Of Cards

We recently got back into some of our favorite card games growing up, and even if you don't live with a quarantine buddy, that doesn't mean you can't all still play cards together, virtually. There are websites and apps that let you all play some of your favorites (like UNO!) together online.

We'll all get through this together! Hopefully, these little activities will help you enjoy your time at home a little more.

Wishing you well!
